PolarisNovaTech started in Cáceres, in a region where the night sky is dark enough that Extremadura has become one of Spain's recognized Starlight destinations. Working somewhere that quiet does something to how you think about reliability — a star you can navigate by only matters if it's still there when you look up.

That's the idea behind the name. Polaris doesn't move — it's the fixed point everything else is measured against. Nova is what happens when a system suddenly has to handle far more than it was built for. We build cloud infrastructure that behaves like the first and survives the second: steady under normal load, and built with enough headroom that a traffic spike is an event you get an alert about, not one you get paged for.

In practice that means we spend more time than most studios on the boring parts: failover paths, alert thresholds that don't cry wolf, and documentation a new hire can actually follow. The flashy parts of cloud infrastructure get the attention; the boring parts are what keep you off the incident channel at midnight.
